Formula and assumptions
The default yields are planning assumptions for premixed concrete: 40 lb = 0.30 ft³, 60 lb = 0.45 ft³, and 80 lb = 0.60 ft³. Always confirm the yield printed on your product.
Premixed concrete bags versus cement
This calculator is for premixed concrete bags that include cementitious material, sand, and aggregate. It is not a cement-only bag calculator. Product yields vary by brand and bag size; check the label and edit the yield assumptions in assets/js/config.js when needed.
Worked example
For 10 cubic feet with a 10% allowance, the target quantity is 11 cubic feet. At a 0.45 cubic-foot yield per 60 lb bag, the estimate is 25 bags after rounding up.
